With extensive expereince in regenerative agriculture, Nicolas has over 20 years of experience in large-scale farming project management in various parts of the world advising on fruit, grain, vegetables, sugar beet and cane production.
In 2009, he founded GreenFarm in Belgium, a farming consulting and contracting company, advising on soil conservation and managing agricultural properties. Nicolas also served as the Chief Operating Officer at the Fruit Farm Group.
In 2013, Nicolas Co-Founded Soil Capital helping over 200,000 hectares of farmland transition to more profitable and regenerative agriculture across 15 countries and 4.
Today, Soil Capital supports farmers in France, Belgium and United Kingdom to do large-scale farm management based on soil regeneration. In 2019, they launched Europe’s first certified carbon payment programme to accelerate the regenerative transition. Two rounds of carbon payments totalling €4,000,000 have been paid by supporting companies to farmers for their contribution to healthy soil & food systems. They are also a founding member of the Climate Agriculture Alliance, supporting the implementation of rigorous frameworks for implementing agricultural carbon finance in Europe.
