Founder, Regenerative School
Sandra Villumsen
Top 50 Farmers is an acceleration platform paving the way for regenerative agriculture to be scaled from soil to gut. We identify the farmers who are role modeling what the future of farming looks like and share their stories. We also connect them with industry executives and pioneering thought leaders to unlock new opportunities across the value chain.
Sandra Villumsen is the Co-Founder of the Regenerative Agriculture School, which works with more than 90 young farmers across Denmark to learn how to transition and steward the land according to regenerative principles.
Year 1 is a basic course in regenerative farming. Here we combine theoretical weekly seminars with master teaching on a school farm. Students are introduced to cultivation methods and business operations. On the school farm, they get concrete experience with regenerative cultivation methods.
Year 2 is an entrepreneurship course. Students learn how to run an independent production either on an established farm or by starting their own business. Students learn about production planning, financial management, organization of work communities, mental health, communication, marketing and sales, etc.
Sandra taught herself how to farm on YouTube. She holds an MsC in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from the University of Lund. Today, her work centers on shaping a more sustainable food landscape with scalable and versatile production, wilder nature, animals on grass, and a fertile soil.
